I’m very excited that Mobile Nations has decided to do a stock-focused podcast. The inaugural podcast was a good start though I found it surprising that the hosts were so convinced that Apple is doomed to being a commoditized hardware maker in the face of a supposedly unstoppable Android onslaught, that Research in Motion is a valid template for Apple’s future, and that the commoditized component vendors are where the real money will be made… It would be great to have some guests on to challenge these notions. For example, it would be great to hear from Andy Zaky, Florian Mueller, or Horace Dediu. There are a lot of reasons why the hosts are wrong about the future of the mobile handset marketplace, including patent litigation, Android fragmentation, and Apple’s dominance of the supply chain.
